Summary
“As the Void Tide rose, the deepest collapsed geometry gave up something that does not behave like a creature — seven voices sharing one mind, singing each other's wounds closed, dredged from a part of the Void that should not contain anything at all.”

The Void Tide of Season One was not, the survivors insist, an invasion in any sense the word has previously carried. The Void Swarm came in rhythmic, escalating waves — and behind the last and largest of them came something the telemetry could not parse. Seven contacts, moving in perfect distributed coordination, registering on instruments as a single entity with its mass and mind spread across all seven bodies. Federation xenologists named it the Hollow Choir, after the harmonic signal it broadcasts continuously: a chord of seven tones, each husk holding one note, the whole forming a structure that resonance analysts describe as 'unmistakably musical and unmistakably wrong.'
The Choir cannot be killed the way anything else can. Each of its seven husks channels a healing resonance into the others; harm one and the remaining six sing its damage closed faster than a single fleet can inflict it. The only fleets that have brought the Choir down are those that learned to suppress the harmony itself — to silence the husks faster than they can sing, using weapons tuned to the Choir's own collapsed-space frequency. The Void Syndicate provided the frequency data. They did not explain how they had it.
What unsettles researchers most is not the Choir's resilience but its provenance. The husks were dredged from a region of the Void's collapsed geometry that the Precursor containment records mark as empty — a zone the relay-station data describes, in the best available translation, as 'sealed against the thing that sings.' The Choir's emergence coincided exactly with the Void Tide's peak, as though the rising Tide had cracked a seal that had held since before humanity left its homeworld. The question every faction is quietly asking, and none is asking loudly: if the Hollow Choir is what was sealed, what sealed it, and what does its escape mean for the seals that still hold?
The Void Syndicate's only public statement on the Hollow Choir was a single sentence, delivered through a Free Trader intermediary and widely circulated: 'It is not the last verse.'
